This Too Shall Pass:A Personal Blog

Well, I don't know about you but it has been one heck of a summer here! This has probably been the busiest summer I have had so far. I have truly been blessed in my business with some awesome couples, kids and families. It's been amazing and I could have not done it without you! I have grown as an artist and as a businesswoman. Although I've had a great time photographing some pretty awesome subjects, things for me, physically (and mentally at times) has been pretty rough for me.

The year started out with me getting pneumonia. It wasn't anything too critical, but my husband was away out of the country on a missions trip to Guatemala. I was stuck at home with two boys. Sick. I felt like death and wondered if my husband would ever come home. Sure it was only a week, but it felt like a lifetime. But, a week passed and he was home. A few weeks later I was back in the game, feeling much better.

But then a couple of months passed and then my husband had to have surgery, which put my life on hold for another few weeks. I had to play nurse, mom, wife, cook, maid, etc. etc.

I was enjoying my busy summer with work and doing family things and then I get sick AGAIN. This time, I had to go to the ER. It felt like birth pains, times 20! I thought I was having a heart attack, seriously. But tests showed that it wasn't my heart at all, but my liver. HUH. Who would have known....my liver? So the doctors asked "Are you a drinker? Do you smoke? Have you taken a lot of prescription pills?" Ummmm, no. None of the above! I mean, I have an occasional glass of wine or two...but anyone who is a mother knows that it's much needed from time to time! And I had my gallbladder removed 5 years ago, so I know it wasn't that.

I'm SURE the doctors must have thought that I'm just a party girl that has had too much to drink. The only partying I have been doing lately has been some pitty parties!

So, they tested my liver enzymes again only to find out that they were even HIGHER. My doctor feared that it was hepatitis. So, they drew my blood for what felt like the 800th time. The tests came back negative. Thank you JESUS. But...if it isn't Hepatitis, than what is is?

So, you can probably guess, they referred me to a specialist because at this point it is out of my doctor's hands. They drew my blood, yet again. Scheduled an MRI (which is today...this afternoon...at 1:30 to be exact) and a scope (through my esophagus) which is scheduled in a couple of weeks.

They are wondering if it's liver disease. It could be a bunch of things. But, either way...it has me worried just a little. I haven't been myself since getting sick. I haven't felt the same. I am soooo tired during the day, but because of my pain meds I have difficulty sleeping at night.

I just want answers. I want them to say. "Yep! You are perfectly fine!" and send me on my way. This has affected my life and my business and I just want it to go away.

So, if I have been MIA lately regarding my business that is why. I've decided to take things slowly and just focus on this thing I've got going on for now. It's the best that I can do at the moment.

You guys are all so awesome and I couldn't do it without you! So thank you for being so patient. Love you all.

Oh, and my little guy just turned 3 and is in preschool now :( Isn't he adorable? Time flies be so fast. I just have to slow down and take it all it....

I love my family. They are my LIFE:)
